1992 DUCATI 907ie
These are becoming very hard to find and we found this one in February 2021 having been stored in a shed with another bike for the last ten years with a genuine 23,800klms on the clock!
Yes, it was covered in dust and wouldn't start, but it was all there, complete with spare fairings, Staintune mufflers, a headlight cover(!) and the original tool kit - after a strip down and good pressure wash we found the overall condition to be excellent especially the bodywork.
This is the last of the DUCATI Paso models (although the name was dropped on the 907ie) designed by Tamburini when under Cagiva ownership and shares some suspension components and electronics from the DUCATI 851 such as the weber "iniezione elettronica" fuel injection system.
Released in 1989 as a evolution of the 750 Paso and later 906 Paso, this is the last and updated 1992 version which has better brakes, and minor tweaks to it's 904cc engine along with the much needed fuel injection system (1989-1992) sorting out the fueling issues which plagued the earlier Paso's.
A great deal has been written about the 907ie - only 2,303 were ever made and about 200 turned up in Australia, so you didn't see too many of these on the road even when new about 30 years ago.
So in April 2021 we set about doing a full strip down, engine pull down, went through every component, replaced parts that were broken or missing, completed a full service, resprayed the frame and repaired some minor cosmetic damage restoring this bike to original factory/showroom condition. - Oh and it rides and handles beautifully!
