2004 DUCATI 800ie Supersport SOLD
We purchased this bike in 2020 with a low 27,000klms on the clock and in what can only be described as mint condition - the previous owner obviously loved her.
Designed by Pierre Terblanche and released in 1999, this "new" look series of fuel injected Super Sports were not a huge success for DUCATI mainly due to their then radical styling, pricing and a now ageing air cooled Desmodue engine.
By 2003, the 750SS and 900SS were axed and replaced by the 620SS CR, 800SS and 1000SS - production ended in 2007 until the release of the current Super Sport in 2017.
The 800SS was actually quite unique as it was fitted with the new high revving air cooled Desmodue 803cc engine (still used in the Scrambler series) and six speed gearbox.
This model was extremely successful in base production racing in Europe and the USA against the likes of the Suzuki SV650.
As very few of the 800SS bikes were sold in Australia, these, along with the 1000SS are now hard to find, and so typical of a Terblance design, they have improved with age and will become a sought after classic.
This is an underrated bike that is over looked by Ducatista - but what you have here is a light machine that has great handling, heaps of torque with performance that will make you
wonder why you actually need a bigger bike than this.
Our plans - full service, detail and just leave it original - this bike will only increase in value!
